Meet: Abs & Jinan Mehio

Tell me a bit about yourself & what you do?

We are parents to three children and Business Owners of multiple businesses, including SAHA Café. Jinan is a Lawyer by background and has her own Legal Business, and a strong passion for Interior Design / Styling, and People. Abs has a Marketing background prior to being a Barista and owning Cafes. We both also have a passion for renovating, and bringing old and tired spaces back to life, both Residential and Commercial. Outside of work we are both very family oriented, keen travellers, and passionate about wellbeing / fitness.

What inspires you with your work?

We are inspired by our love for family, food and coffee. We love creating beautiful, warm and inviting spaces where family, friends and community can come along any time and feel at home, be nurtured by the SAHA Team, and overall, feel nourished in every way.

Did you always see yourself in your current role and if you could do something completely different what would it be?

Yes, we knew (from our early 20’s) we wanted to be independent business owners and loved / grew up working hospitality and customer service. Abs would probably be in the Building Industry, being quite hands on in nature. Jina, probably a Landscape Photographer or Interior Designer, having a longstanding passion for Travel, the Arts and all things Creative.

What are you most proud of?

Our three beautiful children, our family unit as a whole, and our ability to maintain our togetherness whilst running multiple businesses and personal / professional relationships.

Who inspires you and why?

We certainly inspire each other and share the same values, whilst both being quite different in personality and nature. However, we are mostly inspired by our parents and ancestors, who are incredibly resilient and hard workers. They sacrificed their lives for their families, and came to this Country from Lebanon to give us the best lead in life. The Lebanese Culture is truly beautiful and also very inspiring.

What does wellbeing mean to you?

Wellbeing to us, is about nourishment of the soul, and the practice of maintaining our health and inner peace. Wellbeing is all encompassing and must be balanced across multiple areas; emotional health, mental health, physical health, gut health and spiritual health.

What are your favourite ways to move your body?

Nature and Beach walks, Pilates, Yoga, and Dancing.

How do you stay motivated?

With a strong sense of gratitude, self-discipline, and faith. We feel blessed to be on this Earth and hold a conscious state of mind. We are grateful to be living in a free country that allows us to be and achieve whatever we put our minds to. We don’t take this for granted, and tip this gratitude into everything we do. We are also incredibly fortunate to have a fabulous tribe / village around us who constantly support and motivate us to be the best we can be.

What does a day on your plate look like?

Juggling and raising three intelligent and inquisitive children (aged 3, 5 and 7), managing a home, marriage, two self-made businesses, and two more upcoming businesses. Also maintaining strong relationships and personal / professional ties with both our large friend and family networks. Lastly, and importantly, prayer / meditation, exercise and planned downtime also incorporate each day (albeit some days more or less than others).

What do you do to relax and unwind?

Be home with our family, reading, walking, yoga, pilates, and prayer / meditation.

Please share your favourite book or podcast

“The Universe Has Your Back” – by Gabrielle Bernstein.

Do you have a favourite travel destination and if so why?

Lebanon, home base!

What’s the best health advice you have ever received/ do you have a motto that you live by?

For the first 40 years, you will have the body that was given to you. For the next 40 years, you will have the body you’ve created / you deserve.
